How To Get The Camera To Track An Object

One of the most commonly searched topics about blender’s camera is how to move it within a render or get it to look at a very precise location.  Sometimes, the blender artist isn’t trying to centre the camera on the main subject of the scene such as a character.  Let’s have a quick look at having the camera track an empty object.

What do you do?

Explaining how to make the camera track an empty object with text is probably not helpful.  So, there’s a short one minute video posted below to help show what’s being described.  The important things to keep in mind is that you need a camera object and an empty object in the scene.  You’ll make a selection to have the camera track an object that exists within the scene, and then you can simply have the camera following and tracking that empty object capturing all visible objects in the camera’s view.
